Delaware's Long Term Ombudsman Program
The Long Term Care Ombudsman program in Delaware serves the three counties of the state from one office in New Castle. The Ombudsman advocates for residents in long-term care facilities, like nursing homes and assisted living facilities, and for those who receive home based care. The Ombudsman program investigates and resolves complaints on behalf of these residents.
They help when residents or family members have questions and concerns about the rights of persons in long-term care; quality of care or treatment from a care service provider; appeals regarding transfers, discharges, discontinuance or changes in services; and billing and charges, including those covered by Medicare and Medicaid.
Long Term Care Ombudsman will make every reasonable effort to assist, advocate and intervene on behalf of the resident.
