Arizona has BOTH a state Ombudsman office and a Long Term Care Ombudsman office. For concerns related to nursing homes, assisted living, home health care and other long term care facilities, you want the Long Term Care Ombudsman.
Long Term Care Ombudsmen help when residents or family members have questions and concerns about the rights of persons in long-term care; quality of care or treatment from a care service provider; appeals regarding transfers, discharges, discontinuance or changes in services; and billing and charges, including those covered by Medicare and Medicaid.
Long Term Care Ombudsman will make every reasonable effort to assist, advocate and intervene on behalf of the resident.
